Hello! We are Phil and Tess Bonnett and in August we’re off on a Zambian adventure!
A little bit about us: We live in Sheffield and both work as doctors, Phil in Anaesthetics and Tess in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. We are both Christians and belong to ‘The Eccles’ church in Sheffield (www.the-eccles.com) We have felt led to work in Africa for quite a few years now and we are so excited to nearly be there!
A little bit about where we’re going: We going to work at Kalene Mission Hospital (www.kalenehospital.com) in North-West Zambia for a year starting in August 2011. Kalene is pretty remote with the nearest town 80km away. The hospital is close to the borders of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo and many patients have to travel long distances to reach the hospital. It has 180 inpatient beds and around 1000 deliveries a year.

Hi you guys, you look like you are having a ball over there (probably not all of the time) – in terms of professional development it must be amazing, you get to do stuff because you have to and nobody else is around!
